About the Artist: Katherine Cox (Dolphin)
MSW Candidate, BA, HTS, CAAR.CG.70021349

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and an artist without borders, Katherine Cox (known professionally as Dolphin, pronouns she/they) has shared her many artistic talents around the globe, inspiring others with her purposeful artistry, creative ways of engaging with nature, and gift with intuitive animal card readings. They are a Ballmer Scholar and 3rd year MSW student at UW Tacoma (scheduled to graduate 2026) as well as a National Geographic Certified Mentor Educator, trained and certified Healing with the Arts facilitator, and completed the Therapeutic Horticulture series, accredited by the American Horticulture Therapy Association. She also studied Mind-Body Medicine and Art at Evergreen State College, where she received her Bachelors degree in 2011. Please read the "Why Dolphins?" section for more information about her personal story and spiritual connection with dolphins.

Dolphin's work is described as "mixed media" using a variety of creative and artistic techniques in photography, painting, collaborative mural work, portraiture, multimedia, theater, and other creative expressions. She has experience with community organizing, curating events, and fundraising, promoting causes she cares about; environmentalism, supporting LGBQTIA2+ rights, gender equality, ableism, anti-racism, and poverty alleviation. To make her services accessible to all, she offers a donation sliding scale of $10-$100; if someone cannot pay, services are free. She doesn't want to compromise the integrity of her gifts by focusing on monetary gain, and tries to use best practices and mindfulness of cultural appropriation as she draws from a variety of sources to interpret animal messages from cards, dreams, and artwork. Upon graduation (2026) they will serve for 3 years in a Medicaid serving agency serving populations in need of mental/behavioral health services. Some of her career aspirations are to do social work in schools, and to make Dolphin Healing Arts & Nature their own private counseling practice, in collaboration with other clinicians, to create a healing center.
